I am a retired IT consultant and since my retirement I am interested in Neuroscience. I have a masters degree in Econometrics obtained a long time ago at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Holland. More or less by accident I came into contact with the Systems Neuroscience Group of the Black Dog Institute. I am fascinated by the work the members of this group are doing and I am trying to improve my knowledge level about systems neuroscience so that I will have some sort of understanding about what actually is happening in the group. Currently I am attending the Lab Meetings and hopefully in the near future I might assist in some research work. I recently came into contact with the computer programming language Python and I am trying to build some simulation models, specifically involving synchronisation.
